Children in Need 2016
We had a great time supporting Children in Need at Coquet Park this year. We dressed in spots, stripes and primary colours and Nursery even had a spotty cake sale! In total we raised £215.70, thank you for your support!
Hey Ewe! Christmas Performance 2016

As a special January treat, the children were invited to bring in a toy from home to play with and share with their friends for the afternoon.

Nursery - Baby Clinic
The nursery children enjoyed the outdoor baby clinic and loved dressing as doctors and nurses!

STEM Week - RNLI Visit
As part of STEM week we enjoyed a visit from RNLI. They talked to us about water safety and the important job of the RNLI.
Year 1 Visit Richardson Dees Park
Year 1 had a brilliant trip to Richardson Dees Park in Wallsend. They explored the grounds on a nature trail and looked at all of the different trees.

Year 2 Dance Festival
Year 2 amazed the audience at Whitley Bay Playhouse in the North Tyneside Dance Festival 2017. They performed a brilliant medley with a London theme. Well done Year 2!

We enjoyed learning about different species of birds and their habitats with a special visit from the RSPB during STEM week.

Nursery Easter Egg Competition
Nursery had some fantastic ideas for this years egg decorating competition. Well done to Daniel for 'The Minions', Austin for 'McEvoy Farm' and Austin G for 'The Eggtonaughts' Great job everyone!
Heritage School Award
Year 4 took part in a Heritage Schools Project in Autumn term at the Dove Marine Laboratory in Cullercoats. We looked at the history of the town and its fishing heritage. We took part in a number of trips to the Dove Marine to learn about the marine life in the rock pools. We made a rock pool filled with creatures we had seen. Finally, we took part in a celebration day where we showed friends and family all we had done and sang our sea shanty. Coquet Park First School is now a Heritage school and we have received our plaque for the school.
Nursery Outdoor Fun
We love to play outdoors on the nursery yard, especially in the sunshine!
We have great fun every day in our nursery, painting, reading books, writing, funky fingers, sand and water!
World Book Day - Nursery
We all came to nursery dressed as our favourite character from a book for Wold Book Day!
Year 4 - Raging Rivers Dance Session
Year 4 were delighted to welcome Sonny's Mum, Mrs Waters into school to teach us dance. She prepared a workshop based around our 'Raging Rivers' topic. The children had a fantastic time and produced a wonderful dance. A huge thanks to Mrs Waters.
May Day 2017
Well done to all of the children who took part in our May Day celebrations this year. We had a lovely afternoon in the unexpected sunshine. Thank you to everyone who came along to watch the performance, we hope you enjoyed it.

Children's Cancer Run 2017
Congratulations to all of the Coquet Park runners who crossed the finish line on Sunday at the 35th North East Children's Cancer Run. We had a very impressive turn out, thank you for taking the time to join us and help to raise money for North East Children's Cancer Research.
So far our school team has managed to raise a huge £754.51 which is AMAZING!!
Year 1 Church Visit
Year 1 had a great time when they visited St Mary's Church in Whitley Bay. They had the opportunity to explore the church and also enjoyed a christening!
Year 4 - Making a River
As part of our Raging Rivers topic, year 4 went outside and tried to make a river. We used soil, sand and water to create some of the features of a river. We then labelled all the features we could see.
Year 2 - Computing Workshop
Year 2 enjoyed some hands-on ipad sessions in a computer workshop.
Primary Engineers Award
Congratulations to Samuel Baird, Harry Anderson, Brody Richardson, Freya Gell and Joseph Harrison-Hoggarth who were all winners in this year's Primary Engineer Leaders Awards. Samuel won the overall competition with his invention of the 'World Travelling Classroom.'
Nursery - Summer Fun!
Whilst the tigers made kites in Forest School, the lions and bears enjoyed looking after their pets in the sunshine!
Nursery Grooming Salon
We opened our very own grooming salon in nursery and brought in a soft toy pet from home to wash, dry, cut and style!
Nursery - Sports Day
We had great fun on the school field today, we enjoyed running races, hurdles and bean bags! We're warming up for our sport's day picnic!
Nursery - Parachute!!
The parachute is so much fun! We play 'hiding mouse' underneath it, 'around the world' on top of it and we are even learning how to move it in time to some classical music!
Nursery - Dough Disco
We love having a 'dough disco' in nursery! We each have a small piece of play dough in our hands and whilst we dance to the music we also have to follow the routine which helps to strengthen the muscles in our hands and improve our fine motor skills.
Reception - Lunch Time

We are learning all about Traditional Tales, starting with The Gingerbread Man. We even made our own Gingerbread Men to take home - delicious!

Year 3 - Visit to Islamic Cultural Centre
Year 3 had a fantastic afternoon at the Whitley Bay Islamic Cultural Centre - WBICC recently.
Syed and some other helpers from the mosque welcomed us into the centre and told us all about Islam and how the centre is used by the whole Muslim community of Whitley Bay. We were very excited to receive a copy of the Qua'ran with each child's name written in Arabic inside.
Year 4 - NSPCC Obstacle Course
We had a great time taking part in the obstacle course whilst raising money for the NSPCC!
Year 4 - ICT Visit to Valley Gardens
Year 4 had the opportunity to visit Valley Gardens Middle School for an ICT morning.
