Year 4

Who are we?

We are Year Four and we are the oldest class in the school.  We have lots of extra responsibilities and we help our teachers with jobs.  We also take special care of the children in Reception class when they are playing in the playground, especially when they first start school.

Who teaches us?

Mrs Brown teaches us on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning and Miss Foster teaches us on Wednesday afternoon, Thursday and Friday.  Mrs Glenwright is our teaching assistant.

We had a great time taking part in the obstacle course whilst raising money for the NSPCC!

In Year Four we begin to take more responsibility for our own learning and we try to work out how we learn best.  We celebrate achievement in all areas and recognise that we are all unique and each of us has a special talent.

We look forward to many new challenges as the oldest children in school. In May we visit Hawkhirst for a residential visit. This gives us the opportunity to try new experiences and work together.

Our Year 4 class had the opportunity to visit Valley Gardens Middle School for an ICT morning.

As part of their Raging Rivers topic, Year 4 have been on a river walk to the Brierdene to follow this stream to the sea.

We met Steve and Hugh, Friends of the Brierdene,  who showed us around and told us all about the water cycle and features of rivers that we have been learning about in school.
We had a lovely walk and would like to thank, Hugh, Steve and our parent helpers for supporting us on our walk.
